Texas Divorce and Divorce Planning

Divorce Lawyer Serving Tarrant County, Texas

Any legal issue creates stress and anxiety for the involved parties, and divorce can be even more emotional. In proceedings that so intimately affect your family and your future, strong emotions can create more division than necessary, and your choice of attorney can either alleviate the problem or make it worse.

My years of experience have enabled me to help people resolve serious family law issues in a productive and successful fashion. Each member of my office has years of experience working with clients in divorce cases and related issues.  I have developed deep insight into domestic relations issues and Texas law.  I can effectively explain the legal issues involved, and I always focus on making sure my clients fully understand their rights and options.

To schedule a consultation about divorce or divorce planning, contact my law office in Colleyville today.

Texas is a no-fault divorce state. This means that fault is not an issue, and one spouse's disagreement cannot prevent the divorce from happening.

Once the divorce petition is filed, it can be accompanied by a temporary restraining order. This is often necessary to ensure that one party does not abuse the situation and guarantees access to the courts in 14 days.

  • Alimony (spousal support) is an issue that clients often have questions about. Texas law allows for limited alimony only in certain situations, unless payments are agreed upon by the parties.

Although I strive to resolve divorce and other family law matters through cooperative means between the parties—such as mediation or collaborative law—I will take cases to court if we determine that this course of action is in my clients’ best interest.

I pride myself on being extremely detail-oriented throughout each case. My law office conducts extensive discovery to gather all information that may be related to the case, such as property documents, business appraisals, and social studies. Tailoring the case to each individual family situation, I always purse a resolution to the case that focuses on the children’s best interests. My  firm can also address any child support and child custody matters that you may have that stem from your divorce.

Contact Colleyville, Texas divorce attorney Jennifer Caldwell to discuss your specific situation and how our firm may be able to meet your needs and work toward a positive future for your family.
